The common tomato is the most famous species cultivated and consumed by Poles. Based on the classification of food commodities, tomato fruits are vegetables.

Soil for tomatoes.

When deciding to grow tomatoes professionally, we should take care of a sunny place, sheltered from the wind. The ideal soil for growing tomatoes should have a pH in the range of 5.5–6.5 and should be supplied with calcium; its deficiencies cause the occurrence of physiological diseases, e.g. dry rot of fruit tops. To achieve optimal tomato yields, it must be provided with a frost-free period of at least four months.

Please remember to take a break of 3 to 4 years from growing tomatoes in the same location. Tomatoes are vegetables that can be grown under cover. In addition to tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, eggplants, cauliflowers, zucchini and others are also grown under cover. This method of growing crops has many advantages

protection against pests and harmful weather conditions, minimization of water losses, temperature control, better plant resistance to diseases.

Growing tomatoes under cover also requires the use of fertilizers.
